Each of these worlds has its own personality, history, and meaning within the storyline.

King Kai’s Planet is one of the most memorable locations of the afterlife in Dragon Ball. Goku travels here after his death in the Saiyan Saga and trains under King Kai to prepare for Vegeta and Nappa. The planet becomes an important part of the story because it is where Goku learns the Spirit Bomb and the Kaioken, which remain major techniques throughout the series.
What makes King Kai’s planet unique is its tiny size and strange physics. The planet is extremely harsh, with little food and next-level danger, but Broly and his father, Paragus, lived there for many years, and it affected Broly’s personality and power.
Vampa was a significant plot tool as its dangerous wildlife and barren landscape helped in shaping Broly’s personality within the story. Giant serpents, glowing creatures, and harsh terrain filled the planet, making it a lonely place with no civilization, thus matching Broly’s tragic life and making his survival even more impressive.

Planet Sadala is the homeworld of the Saiyans in Universe 6 and represents a different version of the Saiyan race. While the Saiyans of Universe 7 are known for conquering planets, the Saiyans of Sadala act as protectors. There was a Sadala in Universe 7, too, but it was destroyed by internal conflict caused by the Saiyans, thus forcing them to move to Planet Vegeta.
Not much is known about Planet Sadala, but it represents a major part of the Saiyan culture, especially for Universe 6. It has a Defense Force which is part of the Sadala Army, and it is ruled by King Sadala, who more or less shares a parallel with Vegeta because of his strong and prideful personality.

The Sacred World of the Kai is introduced during the Majin Buu Saga in Dragon Ball Z as the home of the Supreme Kai and their attendants. It becomes an important setting when Gohan travels there to unlock his hidden potential through the Elder Kai’s ritual. Even though the series does not show every corner of it, the moments that do take place here are significant.
The Sacred World of Kai more or less feels different from any mortal planet introduced within the Dragon Ball world. It is calm, bright, and filled with an atmosphere of pure energy. Its landscapes are open, peaceful, and untouched by conflict, which truly matches the divine purpose it was destined to serve within the story.
4. The Strange Healing Techniques of Planet Yardrat

Planet Yardrat may not have received a lot of developments within the storyline, but it is where Goku ends up after escaping Namek. The Yardratians teach him Instant Transmission, which later becomes one of his most useful abilities. Even though the planet is not shown much, its impact on the story is huge because of the powers Goku learns there.
Goku stays on the planet for about a year before heading back to Earth. Another aspect that makes this planet special is that Goku is not the only one who learned techniques here. In Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta also travels to Planet Yardat and learns the art of Spirit Control that allows him to use Forced Spirit Fission.
3. The Destructive Training Grounds of Planet Beerus

Planet Beerus is the home of the God of Destruction Beerus and his attendant Whis, making it a major location in Dragon Ball Super. Goku and Vegeta train here under Whis, learning powerful techniques and reaching new levels of strength. It is located in a completely different realm that is more or less unreachable by normal standards.
Planet Beerus became a significant setting within the Dragon Ball world because of its divine design and destructive energy. Its landscapes, floating islands, and otherworldly features make it feel like a realm meant for gods. The lower part has a shape similar to a square pyramid, and the top is made of a giant dead tree.
2. The Chaotic Prison Blocks of the Prison Planet

The Prison Planet is an experiment by Fu, the artificial son of the demon Towa, and it appears in the Super Dragon Ball Heroes storyline, acting as a trap for strong fighters from different universes. Even though it is not part of the main anime storyline, it plays a major role in the Heroes continuity and drives many insane battles and confrontations.
The planet is a set of seven different planets chained together and divided into sections with different hazards, enemies, and unstable environments. It is unpredictable and designed purely for conflict, which gives it a chaotic and dangerous identity. What’s special is that the Prison Planet contains its own new set of Dragon Balls.
