In the old footage from a 2023 Real 92.3 FM appearance, Davido shared an encounter he had with World Bank president David Malpass during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

During the interview, Davido recounted how he met Malpass after performing at a hotel event. After the World Bank president complimented his show, Davido quickly called his father, Adedeji Adeleke, on video.

The video resurfaced following Erigga’s early September 2026 message, where he praised musicians who succeeded without wealthy family support. Davido countered, asserting that coming from affluence does not negate hard work or achievement.
Erigga responded by labeling Davido as the “Ambassador of Rich Kids,” accusing him of intimidation towards less-privileged artists.
