GTA 6’s promotional material is flowing in more than ever, fueling the everlasting comparison between its vehicles and those in games like Forza Horizon and Gran Turismo. And if you have been wondering why Rockstar’s car detailing level has suddenly crossed into racing-sim territory, we might have to dial back to a 2019 acquisition that merged a studio with genuine Forza experience directly into Rockstar’s network.

Rockstar’s leap in car detail lines up with a studio it added to its roster years before GTA 6 was even confirmed. Dhruva Interactive, founded in Bangalore, India, in 1997, built its name as an outsourcing studio for major Western publishers, contributing art to titles like Halo 5: Guardians, Quantum Break, and more. However, one of its most relevant credits sits in the racing genre, as Dhruva provided 3D art for Forza Horizon 2, art production for Forza Motorsport 6, and the cover car artwork for Forza Horizon 3, all for Microsoft’s Turn 10 Studios.
Sweden-based Starbreeze Studios held a majority stake in Dhruva from 2016 to 2019, when it had to sell its roughly 92% stake in May 2019 to Rockstar thanks to financial trouble. This move led to a team of around 300 developers and employees under the Indian studio being absorbed directly into Rockstar India.
What does this mean? A chunk of the same talent responsible for car art on multiple mainline Forza titles has been working under the Rockstar Banner for nearly seven years now, running straight through GTA 6’s production cycle.
GTA 6 Cars Look More Real Than Ever

You might have come across posts pitting GTA 6’s vehicles against the latest Forza titles, with many pointing out even the tiniest details, including panel gaps instead of the flat, painted-on seams that players witnessed in the earlier games.
And while not every single comparison gives a clear win to Rockstar, the general consensus along the threads is that Rockstar’s vehicle art has taken a real, measurable step up compared to GTA 5, arriving right as GTA 6 heads towards its November 19, 2026 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/ S.

It’s important to note that Rockstar is yet to release any kind of information or credit list that directly confirms the involvement of these aforementioned developers in the upcoming title. However, with the publisher’s India-based studio having the most developers leading GTA 6’s development, it’s likely we are going to see their name appear at the end of the game in some capacity.
