After its last major DLC update in 2024, FromSoftware’s Elden Ring is finally ready to deliver some new content, and this time around, it’s a direct addition to the Lands Between itself, albeit a bit lackluster when compared to Shadow of the Erdtree. Dubbed the Tarnished Pack, this bite-sized DLC arrives alongside Elden Ring’s much-awaited debut on Nintendo Switch 2, with the new extension arriving on every other platform on the same day.

The Tarnished Pack is officially set to release on August 28, 2026, across PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/ S, and Xbox One. It’s also the same day Elden Ring makes its first-ever appearance on Nintendo Switch 2 via Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition.
The Tarnished Edition itself bundles the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and this new content into one definitive package for Switch 2. The better news is that, rather than locking the extras behind Nintendo’s exclusive console, it would be released as a standalone purchase for players on other platforms, coming out as the Tarnished Pack, as discussed.
The price? Bandai Namco has confirmed a standard price of €4.99, which is roughly $5.69 for players in the US and a figure that is likely to be rounded off to either $4.99 or $5.99. Either way, it’s a genuinely low-cost add-on rather than a full-price expansion, sitting well under the cost of the game’s Shadow of the Erdtree $39.99 price back in 2024.

The upcoming Tarnished Pack essentially focuses on cosmetics and character creation rather than a new questline or region for the player to enjoy. Here’s everything that has been confirmed so far:
Two New Starting Classes
Heavy Knight: A strength- and vigor-based build that starts with a heavy-plate armor set and a curved greatsword. It’s built for players who favor slow, hard-hitting melee pressure.
Idus Knight: A Dexterity-leaning counterpart kitted out with a lightweight armor set, a fast light greatsword, and a matching shield.
There will also be four new armor sets, giving both new and returning players fresh cosmetic options outside the two starting classes. Additionally, there will be three Torrent customization skins, allowing players to change the appearance of their spectral steed for the first time since launch back in 2022.
The truth is, the Tarnished Pack was built as a Switch 2 launch perk first, but Bandai Namco simply chose not to wall it off from everyone else. That said, the low price point makes it an easy pickup for longtime players looking for an excuse to start a new build, especially with two new classes to test out.
